Like the others said, there is no Richmond Hill, only the Richmond District (inner and outer) and many other neighborhoods. Where are you staying? S.F. is not as bad as some big cities around the country but to tell you what is seedy I have to know what part of town you will be in. Avoid these areas at night -- Geneva, Bayview, China Basin, Hunters Point, Excelsior, South Hills, Tenderloin, Civic Center, Polk Gulch, South of Market.
