Marketing and golf?
Let me preface this all by saying that I have no problem with golf as a sport, but to be honest, it doesn't provide me nearly the same thrill as mountain biking, cycling or more high-adrenaline endeavors. This is my dilemma...I work in marketing and advertising, and I enjoy the creativity and travelling that come along with the job, but I don't enjoy golf...to be frank, it's boring. My boss constantly brings it up as a means of meeting clients and 'encourages' my going to the range in my free time outside of work (when I'm mountain biking, etc.) I am aware that this is a means of meeting clients (perhaps this reflects the generation gap...I'm in my late twenties). What do I do in this situation? I don't feel like my job is on the line, but it annoys me greatly to be pressured into doing things in my spare time (what spare time I have) outside of work just to appease my boss and the company. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
