Can someone check my grammar?

There are several musical characteristics that are evident in the production of African music both instrumental and vocal ensemble. These techniques include the use of call and response, ostinato, and improvisation. The process of applying these methods were demonstrated to us during the cl activities by the ign reporter, in which we are instructed to sing an African songs employing call and response. Here, the reporter (lead singer) proceeds by stating the introduction or “call section”, then we response by repeating the phrases sung by the lead singer. Another characteristic we encounter during the activities is the use of ostinato, generated in order to keep the time and metronomic structure in manner of externalizing the basic pulse through hand clapping while singing. The method of applying improvisations can be attained by singing the motif in a different manner using harmonic relationship; however there are few of us who attempt to use this technique.
