ITunes; time out i think.?

I have a brand new laptop an HP Pavilion g4 && I'm trying to download iTunes but it stops at 14% ; 13 min. 20 secs. ; && (10. 5 MB out of 77.4 MB) it does this everytime; I've restarted my computer multiple times & it still does it. do you think it is internal or iTunes is just acting up.? Do you think i need another installment like Quick time or Java script or something that i don;t have that i may need; like what do you need to run it, exactly. Thank you guys; please help; i can't live without music.!
