How should we file our taxes? We just got married this year. SSDI is my only income,$15,900. His is $23,000 before taxes. His insurance premiums and co-payments are high. Can we file separately or is jointly better? He has a lot of unreimbersed medical expenses and has lost a lot of work time due to surgeries.We can't afford to pay someone to figure our taxes for us.
